Elizabeth Anne Hobbs
Elizabeth was born and raised in Detroit, MI where she began competing at the age of 5 in numerous oratorical competitions. As a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, a fine arts boarding school, she studied classical music, composition, clarinet and classical piano. Elizabeth was accepted into the world-renowned music program at The Juilliard School where she continued her studies in clarinet as well as music theory and composition. Extending herself further, she began her vocal studies as a soprano with Teresa Hopkin, Director of vocal studies at Emory University and voice over training with Susan Shalhoub Larkin and Cynthia Barrett at Atlanta Voice Over Coaching. As an educator, she teaches piano, voice and composition at The North Fulton School of Music where her students have won numerous awards, fellowships and music scholarships. As a sought after collaborative artist, Elizabeth is making a name for herself as a voice over actor and classically trained singer in the Southeast region. She has worked with numerous businesses providing high quality voice overs from her recording studio in Atlanta and has also done radio work. She hopes to combine all of her disciplines and love for animation with her animated series, Penelope and Simon.
"Cartoons have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up watching Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain and tons of anime. With years of experience as a musician, I’ve always wondered how to merge the two. I knew somewhere down the road, animation and voice acting was going to be my life. I just never wanted music to take a backseat and in that space, Penelope and Simon was created."
